Refund Policy

Last updated: 8th October 2026

This policy applies to registrations for running events organised by Certified Running (“Certified”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

By registering for a Certified Running event, participants agree to this policy and the applicable Event Terms & Conditions and Participant Waiver.

1. Entry Refunds

Event entry fees are non-refundable for change of mind, injury, illness, scheduling conflicts, travel issues, failure to attend or inability to complete the event, except where required by Australian Consumer Law or otherwise expressly agreed by Certified Running.

We understand that circumstances can change and therefore offer participants the option to transfer their entry to another person, subject to the conditions below.

Participants may also have the option to purchase additional Refund Protection during registration.

2. Optional Refund Protection

Certified Running may offer optional Refund Protection through Race Roster during the registration process.

Refund Protection is an additional purchase that may allow participants to request a refund if they are unable to attend an event due to certain covered circumstances, such as injury, illness or other qualifying unforeseen events.

Refund Protection is subject to the terms, eligibility requirements, exclusions and claims procedures of the relevant protection provider.

Participants are responsible for reviewing these conditions before purchasing.

Refund Protection must be purchased during the original registration process and cannot generally be added afterwards.

Where Refund Protection has been purchased, eligible refund requests should be submitted directly to the protection provider using the instructions supplied with the purchase confirmation.

Refund Protection does not replace any rights participants may have under Australian Consumer Law.

3. Entry Transfers

Participants may transfer their registration to another person up to 72 hours before the scheduled event start, subject to availability and successful completion of the transfer process.

Transfers must be completed through the official Race Roster transfer system.

A $2.20 transfer fee applies.

The original registration fee may be applied as a credit towards the new participant’s registration, subject to the transfer settings and any applicable price differences displayed during the transfer process.

The new participant must complete the registration process, provide accurate personal information and accept the applicable Event Terms & Conditions and Participant Waiver.

Transfers are only valid once completed and confirmed through Race Roster.

Participants must not give or sell their bib to another person without completing an official transfer.

Refund Protection purchased by the original participant does not automatically transfer to the new participant.

4. Race Wave Changes

Participants may request to change their allocated race wave up to 72 hours before the scheduled event start, subject to availability and event requirements.

Where self-service wave transfers are available through Race Roster, the applicable transfer fee will be displayed during the process.

Certified Running reserves the right to adjust wave allocations where reasonably necessary for participant safety, course capacity or event operations.

5. Event Postponement or Rescheduling

Certified Running may postpone or reschedule an event where reasonably necessary due to adverse weather, safety concerns, venue restrictions, authority requirements or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where an event is rescheduled, existing registrations will ordinarily remain valid for the new date.

Participants will be notified of the revised arrangements and any available options.

Participants unable to attend the rescheduled date should contact Certified Running. Requests for refunds, credits or transfers will be considered in accordance with the circumstances and applicable Australian Consumer Law.

6. Event Cancellation

If an event is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, Certified Running will notify registered participants as soon as reasonably practicable.

Available refund, credit or transfer arrangements will depend on the circumstances of the cancellation and applicable legal requirements.

Where participants are entitled to a refund or another remedy under Australian Consumer Law, those rights will be honoured.

Optional Refund Protection should not be relied upon to cover cancellation of the event by the organiser or venue.

7. Registration and Processing Fees

Any applicable registration, payment processing or transfer charges will be disclosed during the relevant transaction.

Where a voluntary refund is offered, non-refundable third-party charges may be excluded to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in this policy limits a participant’s entitlement to a refund of applicable fees where required by law.
